Carianne Johnson is a climate resilience and sustainability professional with more than a decade of international experience spanning climate risk management, environmental and social safeguards, and nature-based solutions. She has designed and managed complex multi-country programs at the intersection of climate risk, natural hazards, and development investment.
Her work spans the Caribbean, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asia-Pacific, where she has translated complex climate risk data into actionable development initiatives for governments, international financial institutions, insurance providers, and frontline communities affected by climate change.
With strong technical expertise in spatial planning tools and climate modeling, Carianne has served as a subject-matter expert in climate risk management, including advising on the limitations of international catastrophe models for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Her work focuses on integrating disaster risk reduction strategies to strengthen economic resilience across high-risk landscapes.
Carianne holds a PhD in Disaster Risk Management.
